What we're looking for
The Review publishes original economics research: empirical analysis, theoretical argument, economic history, or policy evaluation. There is no restriction on topic, method, or school affiliation. The editorial standard is rigor and clarity. A paper does not need to be exhaustive to be publishable, but it must make a specific argument, support it with evidence or reasoning, and engage honestly with its limitations.
Papers most often fall short on one of three things: the research question is too broad to answer in the space, the evidence does not clearly support the conclusion, or the limitations go unaddressed. If you are unsure whether your paper is ready, read it against those criteria before submitting.
The Review accepts submissions on a rolling basis; there is no deadline. The editorial board will acknowledge receipt within five business days and provide a decision (accept, revise and resubmit, or decline) within six weeks.
