Board applications open each spring and are sent out by email.

AES was founded in Spring 2004 by Conor Sutherland '06 and James Kelly '06. The club has had continuous student leadership since then. AES uses a two-stage transition: co-presidents hand off in January, giving the incoming co-presidents a full winter and spring term before the broader board transitions in the spring. This keeps leadership continuity at the top of the organization while the full board turns over on the academic year.

Past boards are encouraged to stay connected with AES and are welcome to return as colloquium guests after graduation.
